This keypad display unit (kdu) kit provides remote control of the falcon iii an/prc-15 (c) handheld radion and the complementary vehicular and base station systems. The kdu is worn on the wrist and provided remote keypad functionally. A six foot (1.8 meter) kdu cable and instructions are included. The 10553-0200-xx includes: 10511-0704-012 - kdu extension cable for falcon ii and falcon iii manpacks, 6 ft.(1.8m); 12041-5492-a006 - kdu extension cable for an/prc-152(c) 6ft. (1.8m) ; 12041-5530-01 - 32 pin to 7 pin kdu cable adapter.
A device which acts as a normal radio handset and provides remote control for channel selections, power selections, channel/frequency selection and volume control and the like. It provides connection to communication networks by wire connection and wireless connection through radio link (vhf) or satellite link. May include encryption option to use with secure communications network.
