It consists of portable receive suite terminal(prt) or antenna and a portable receive broadcast manager(pbrm).The prt contains the ka-band satellite receiver antenna, integrated receiver decoder(ird), and the automated transponder tracker and channel tuner.The pbrm c/o a ruggedized laptop computer, kg-250 crypto unit for type-one encryption capability, commerical conditional access system(cas)"smart card" for type-two encryption, a power adapter, and assorted ethernet (cat-5) cables.The pbrm can operate in either an unclassified(type-2 encryption) or in a classified(type-1 encryption) . A kg-250 and swappable classified hard drive are required to receive classified data.
A broadcast system which has the capability to receive, decrypt, process, encrypt and transmit both local and remotely generated data, via a user supplied terminal, satellite communicator. the system includes dual processing enclaves that are comprised of routers, encoders, switches, encapusulators, modulators, receiver/decoders, and encryption devices with associated workstations that utilize a variety of commercial and government developed software. Informally known as transportable satellite broadcast manager (tsbm), and is a part of global broadcast service.
