Threat emitter simulator
A single component specifically designed to produce radio frequency signals transmitted through the air, to be used in the training of radar set operaters to deprive the enemy of the effective use of his electronic equipment through position fixing, signal identification, deception, and jamming with resultant tactical advantage to our own operating forces. It cannot be used for operational electronic countermeasures because of design characteristics. For items that generate electronic countermeasures signals that are wire conducted to another component such as a radar set indicator, see simulator, countermeasures signals.
