Molded rubber
An item fabricated from a cellular rubber pad, cemented to a rigid or semirigid backplate. It is usually shaped to fit the curvature of the forehead or a single brow of the observer. It is designed to be mounted on sighting devices, such as periscopes, telescope mounts, range finders, and thelike, to protect the observer from vibration and/or shock while sighting.
