It enables the user to select navigation and communications assets for monitoring and transmitting.It also allows selection of the intercom to communicate with other crewmembers. It has volume controls (both master and for individual assets), hot mic and vox selection, vox level and a call button which permits connection to all crewmembers on the aircraft at fullvolume for alert messages. Backup modecan be selected which connects vital assets directly to the flightdeck excap's if there's a power failure or a fault in the icu
